Quality Control Yard Inspector

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • ?Uses various dimensioning tools (i.e. 25/50 foot tape measure, 6” rules, combination squares, levels, etc) to ensure proper coatings have been applied when required.
    ?Inspects parts to blue prints/design drawings.
    ?Performs Visual Weld Inspections to the requirements of AWS D1.1.
    ?Cross train in other areas of Quality Control Department and fill in when need arises.
    ?Ensure that all documentation is accurately and neatly completed including pictures of loads.
    ?Keep pass down log accurate.
    ?Comply with Sabre Tubular Structures safety standards at all times.
    ?Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with personnel of Quality Department and all departments at Sabre.
    ?Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:
  • ? One year in Quality Control or related field in a manufacturing environment.
    ? Have the ability to perform work functions while standing for long periods of time.
    ? Have the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
    ? Have the ability to climb and bend over in order to perform inspections.
    ? Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to all climates.
    ? Be able to read and interpret blueprints
    ? Be able to accurately verify all parts to print using a tape measure.

Shipping Yard Specialist / Coordinator

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains and updates yard locations within Epicor.
  • Performs warehouse/yard audits.
  • Maintains and reviews all Shipping Schedules and Shipping Reports.
  • Processes warehouse/yard paperwork and shipment photos.
  • Communicates the status and/or issues on shipmen to other departments.
  • Maintains driver's departure times in the Transportation Management System.
  • Assists in any shipping duties as needed.
  • Maintains a high level of productivity.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience working in a Shipping/Warehouse/Yard environment
  • At least 1 year of recent relevant experience in any ERP system, Epicor would be a plus.
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated accuracy of work, good organization skills, attention to detail as well as the ability to work as a team player.
  • Effectively communicate in English with warehouse personnel, management, and supervisors via two-way radio, email and in person.
  • Ability to read and interpret Shipping Authorizations and Daily Ship Schedules.
  • Maintains a Level B Equipment Operator Certification.
  • Must maintain a valid driver license.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and drag materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Position is in a warehouse environment which may be noisy, dusty, hot and/or cold and will require working outdoors in all conditions. PPE is required.

Machine Operator Lead

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overseeing and delegating daily task to assigned production employees.
    Efficiently use the company’s computer system (EPICOR/Vantage - MES), to collect labor hours and track process information on each job.
    Supervises employee duties to insure Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals are being met.
    Responsible for training production employees as needed.
    Insures housekeeping is maintained in area.
    Uses Microsoft Outlook (email) to communicate within and outside of the department.

      Racking Lead

      Alvarado, TX

      Responsibilities:
      • Runs, maneuvers, navigates or drives heavy equipment or mechanized equipment in receiving area, such as forklifts, cranes/overhead cranes, trucks, etc.
      • Receives material and prepares it to be galvanized by hanging it with proper lifting devices, chains, wires, etc. to make sure it is properly and safely attached to the racks/cranes either manually or by use of equipment.

      • Inform QA/QC of any quality concerns and inform Maintenance Lead on any and all equipment failures and concerns.

      Requirements:
      • Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including some weekends.
      • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.
      • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
      • Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
      • Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.
      • Must be able to twist wire used to hang material on racks or hooks or other equipment used to receive and rack equipment for galvanizing purposes.
      • Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures.
      Educational Requirements:
      • Prior racking equipment for galvanizing purposes required.
      • Experience using forklifts and cranes required.
      • Ability to read and write in English required.
      • Must be able to obtain SG Crane/Forklift Certification.
      • Prior Lead/Supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility highly preferred
      • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred

      Department Coordinator

      Sioux City, IA

      Responsibilities:
      • The coordinator position is assigned duties from any of 4 functional work groups. Quote, Order Entry, Order Processing and Engineering Tracking. The position includes many coordination, tracking, reporting, and data entry duties.
      • Coordinates and reviews the distribution of all incoming bid requests and correspondence.
      • Assists in completing material estimates, determining part numbers and pricing, entering tower profile data and logging upgrade designs.
      • Enters, processes and reviews information in company system.
      • Maintains and distributes the sales queue.
      • Works with the Project Managers to prioritize and schedule engineering and shipments.
      • Tracks all engineering releases and follows up and communicates as needed.

      AutoCAD Drafter

      Responsibilities:
      • Creates and checks drawings for all aspects of the towers and associated components
      • Creates Bills of Material for each job.
      • Creates fabrication drawings for non-standard parts.
      • Troubleshoots production and field issues.

      Requirements:
      • 1-2 years recent experience in Drafting desired. Will consider recent college graduate.

      .Net Programmer

      Responsibilities:
      • Performs basic programming tasks that closely follow patterns of previous work done at Sabre.
      • Conducts elementary fact finding projects concerning specified work processes.
      • Completes basic programming assignments utilizing Microsoft .NET development suite.

      Requirements:
      • One to five years experience developing .Net applications is desirable.
      • One to five years experience developing applications that use MS SQL is desirable.

      Welder Lead

      Alvarado, TX

      Responsibilities:
      • The lead person works under the direction of the Tower Shop Supervisor to provide training, guidance and direction to assigned employees in an efficient, clean, safe, and cost effective manner in order to achieve the goals and key performance metrics of the company’s objectives. This position is responsible for all activities related to the coordination, organization, and control of producing shafts and component parts for jobs in a cost effective, timely, and quality manner based off of production goals and customer commitment dates
      • Serves as a “Working Lead Person”

      Requirements:
      • Must learn how to effectively use the Epicore/Vantage computer system to report data, check job schedules, inventory levels, routings, bill of materials, as well as, train new and existing employees
      • Must be able to read blue prints and visually inspect shafts and hardware
      • Must be able to read and understand Sabre's Quality Manual and manufacturing tolerances.
      • Must learn how to communicate effectively; orally and in writing.
      Educational Requirements:

      Forklift - Warehouse

      • Unloads inbound shipments and moves product to storage locations.

      Kettle Operator

      Responsibilities:
      • Ensure all galvanized products meet Sabre quality requirements and promote efficiency and uptime.
      • Minimize downtime and delays with efficient processing.
      • Add zinc and other alloys to the kettle and pre-treat in order to maintain proper levels and proper quality of product.
      • Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use (forklifts, cranes, monorails, chains, slings, etc).
      • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
      • Must use good judgment, follow instructions and have good problem solving abilities.
      • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

      • Dross kettle (remove sludge) on a pre-determined schedule according to Sabre guidelines.
      • Maintain safe and efficient kettle temperatures and kettle zinc levels at all times.
      • Enforce established housekeeping standards.

          • Hooks and unhooks trailers from the tractor itself, including pushing and/ or pulling dollies into place and cranking lever to raise and lower landing gear on semi-trailers. Loads and unloads trailer with mechanical freight handling equipment as required.

          Drafter

          Responsibilities:
          • Preparing complete and accurate AutoCAD fabrication drawings of steel transmission and utility structures as designed by STS engineering personnel
          • Utilizing STS Engineering information, manufacturing parameters and customer’s technical specifications to create drawings
          • Adheres to and has sound knowledge of all STS Drafting Dept. standards, policies and processes

          Production Equipment Operator

          Alvarado, TX

          Responsibilities:
          • Assists machine operators, welders, and other personnel in loading/unloading, transporting raw, in-process, and finished materials throughout the facility
          • Uses 36,000lb forklifts and other heavy equipment such as cranes to move various sizes of steel plates and poles
          • Coordinates incoming and outgoing parts
          • Responsible for ensuring correct parts are issued for jobs ordered and substitutions are recorded
          • Keeps hardware tracking accurate and up to date
          • Communicates with multiple departments regarding hardware status

          • Manually positions pole assembly in pole rollers into proper position for welding.  Reads and interprets drawings (including weld symbols) and specifications to determine proper location of attachments, as well as weld size and configuration.
          • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses tables to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
          • Adjust welding machines to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Frequently pushes pulls and lifts up to 50 pounds.
          • Uses GMAC or FCAW welding process to weld small components or assemblies.
          • Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinders, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas.
          • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill carious size holes on pole assembly as required by drawings and specifications.
          • Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size, standard and metric.

          Requirements:

          • The pole assembly generally consists of a round tube or formed shaft, baseplate, hand hole, arm mounting simplex, tenon top, vangs, step lugs, ladder clips, and/or other small parts
          • Read and interpret drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly
          • Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 lbs
          • Read and interpret drawings to assure proper location of various small part attachments
          • Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications
          • Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
          • Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel
          • Uses jigs made at Sabre/Texas for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts
          • Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts
          • Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing
          • Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face
          • Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures by changing tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve
          • Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinder, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded area
          • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing
          • Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, and grinding debris
          • Performs visual inspecting and identifies material discrepancies to assure welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications
          • Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size

          Requirements:
          • Recent experience working with Quality Control in a welding/manufacturing environment preferred
          • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and in all types of weather conditions such as rain, snow, heat, and cold
          • Must possess strong English verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to build relationships with co-workers and other internal customers
          • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced team environment
          • Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and quality manuals, blue prints, and design drawings along with proficiency to use and understand measuring and testing equipment
